Now offering EMDR! Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy.
I offer a unique, personalized, solution-focused, therapeutic approach to help you to truly enjoy life!
Now offering walk and talk therapy!!
Walk-and-talk therapy is an outdoor, movement-based counseling approach that offers benefits like reduced interaction pressure, nervous system regulation, and increased engagement for neurodivergent clients.
Fresh air and exercise are good for you! Walk and Talk Therapy facilitates movement of your muscles and bilateral stimulation of your brain. This mind body experience relaxes the nervous system and helps some clients open up more easily and process more quickly. The side-by-side walking takes some of the pressure off of a face-to-face interaction. Clients also report gaining a feeling of empowerment by setting the pace of their walking. Children, teens and clients with ADHD, Autism and other neurodivergent conditions may prefer this type of therapy.
Walking movement also encourages deep breathing and helps clients learn ways to reduce overall stress, release physical tension, and encourage physical fitness (hey the steps count!). Being out in nature increases mindfulness and encourages staying in the present moment. Also, because our brains naturally try to find meaning and understanding of life’s complexities, insight and clarity can be gained by being out in natural surroundings.
I have experience working in the field of social work, education, coaching, and have been a foster parent. I enjoy reading, anything outdoors, adventuring, and spending time with my family.
